![]() Utility and service providers can see your credit file.”Įxperian says my security is low because while I have a freeze in place, I haven’t bought into their questionable “lock service.” Banks can check your file if you apply for credit or loans. “You won’t see alerts if someone tries to access your file. “When your file is unlocked, you’re more vulnerable to identity theft and fraud,” Experian warns, untruthfully. The message I saw upon logging in confirmed that while I had a freeze in place with Experian, my current “protection level” was “low” because my credit file was unlocked. When a consumer with a freeze logs in to Experian’s site, they are immediately directed to a message for one of Experian’s paid services, such as its CreditLock service. And this has been going on for at least four years.”Įxperian has not yet responded to requests for comment. “They’re allowing this huge security gap so they can make a profit. “Experian had the ability to give people way better protection through added authentication of some kind, but instead they don’t because they can charge $25 a month for it,” Thomas said. Thomas said he’s furious that Experian only provides added account security for consumers who pay for monthly plans. Unless, that is, you subscribe to Experian’s heavily-marketed and confusingly-worded “ CreditLock” service, which charges between $14.99 and $24.99 a month for the ability to “lock and unlock your file easily and quickly, without delaying the application process.” CreditLock users can both enable multifactor authentication and get alerts when someone tries to access their account. Also, when the PIN is retrieved, Experian doesn’t bother notifying any other email addresses already on file for that consumer.įinally, your basic consumer (read: free) account at Experian does not give users the option to enable any sort of multi-factor authentication that might help stymie some of these PIN retrieval attacks on credit freezes. The best part about this lax authentication process is that one can enter any email address to retrieve the PIN - it doesn’t need to be tied to an existing account at Experian. The next two questions were useless for authentication purposes because they’d already been asked and answered one was “which of the following is the last four digits of your SSN,” and the other was “I was born within a year or on the year of the date below.” Only one question mattered and was relevant to my credit history (it concerned the last four digits of a checking account number). The answer to the second question also was none of the above. The first question asked about a new mortgage I supposedly took out in 2019 (I didn’t), and the answer was none of the above. KrebsOnSecurity stepped through the same process and found similar results. Thomas said he and a friend both walked through the process of recovering their freeze PIN at Experian, and were surprised to find that just one of the five multiple-guess questions they were asked after entering their address, Social Security Number and date of birth had anything to do with information only the credit bureau might know. Thomas said after several days on the phone with Experian, a company representative acknowledged that someone had used the “request your PIN” feature on Experian’s site to obtain his PIN and then unfreeze his file. Thomas said he only learned about the activity because he’d taken advantage of a free credit monitoring service offered by his credit card company. ![]() who put a freeze on his credit files last year at Experian, Equifax and TransUnion after thieves tried to open multiple new payment accounts in his name using an address in Washington state that was tied to a vacant home for sale.īut the crooks were persistent: Earlier this month, someone unfroze Thomas’ account at Experian and promptly applied for new lines of credit in his name, again using the same Washington street address. ![]() Experian’s page for retrieving someone’s credit freeze PIN requires little more information than has already been leaked by big-three bureau Equifax and a myriad other breaches.ĭune Thomas is a software engineer from Sacramento, Calif.

![]() The lattes are obviously much cheaper than what you're likely getting at your local coffee shop, but I also feel the forager bowls and soups are a great deal for the quality you're getting. That'll come down to around $80 to $180 per week depending on the items you choose. Simply choose if you'd like a small, medium, or large box with nine, 14, or 24 items in it, respectively. That said, compared to other meal delivery services out there, I actually found this to be relatively affordable at $7 to $12 per meal. Nothing is ever going to be as affordable as buying ingredients and cooking them on your own, but with Daily Harvest, you're paying for nutritionally-dense, chef-crafted, prepared meals that'll save you time. Daily Harvest How much does Daily Harvest cost? These fan favorites are the sweet potato + kale and artichoke + spinach flatbreads. "I do recommend my clients keep Daily Harvest food in the freezer for days on which they may need some help getting more nourishing fruits and vegetables in delicious ways like smoothies, bowls, bites, and flatbreads." "It’s so important to include nourishing plants into your day, no matter what your lifestyle is, and Daily Harvest makes it easy and delicious."ĭietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN, agrees and told me that even though she doesn't usually recommend meal delivery services, Daily Harvest is actually the exception for her. "Daily Harvest fits many different eating ethos and lifestyles by providing a foundation of fruits and vegetables," says dietitian Jenn LaVardera, RD. And while you should, of course, always listen to what your body's unique needs are, I turned to registered dietitians to get their input. ![]() I mean, it only takes about two minutes of scanning the aisles of any grocery store to know that a lot of products are marketed as "healthy" when they may not truly be nutrient-dense. This is a fair question, and it was the first question I asked before committing to doing this for a week straight. Daily Harvest Is Daily Harvest actually healthy? These are the chocolate + blueberry and banana + greens smoothies, the latter of which was one of my faves. They make some of the best soup I've ever had in addition to flatbreads, lattes, and even ice cream-all of which are plant-based and crafted by chefs to pack in as many fruits and veggies as possible. She quit her job to make smoothies in her kitchen, and seven years later the brand makes so much more than those smoothies. The brand was founded in 2015 because CEO Rachel Drori was desperate for healthy, convenient food. What is Daily Harvest?Ĭhances are that you've seen the brand's aesthetically-pleasing branding and iconic smoothies all over your Instagram feed, but they're so much more than that. Enter the holy trifecta of value, taste, and health: Daily Harvest. And if the food was priced well and tasted good, it usually didn't have much nutritional value. I dabbled in a few, and found that they were either too expensive or simply offered food that really just didn't taste good. My first experience with a meal delivery service was straight out of college-I was new to New York City and besides the fact that I didn't want to lug bags of groceries up my fourth floor walk-up, I also found that I was spending a ton of time and money ordering takeout or trying to meal prep before a busy week of work. And since that's not the case (for most of us), I have turned to meal delivery and prep services frequently throughout my life. Hey, the world would be a happier place if all of us had chefs whipping up tasty, nutritious meals for us on the reg. I know I'm not exactly making a groundbreaking statement when I say that I'd like an easy and delicious way to be healthy. ![]() As the convention neared, Chase's hold on voters appeared to widen from her opponents. However, when the “flash” is close to her face, you can see the fireworks “light up” her face briefly. In the first frame: throughout most of the play through, the subject model is silhouetted. With it, you can pull off an even more interesting effect of lighting up your subject with the filling media. There is a feature that will allow you to blend the replacement media with the original media using Blend Modes if you wish. You can stack the effects on a single clip and use the drop zones to fill the parts. “scKey Replace” allows you to select any color (use shift-click and/or drag to include more) very much as you would in a “paint” application like Photoshop. If you use SC KeyFX scKey Replace, you only need one clip. It will look great! And, you didn’t need to use a special Motion template to accomplish it. When completed, you will end up with a compound clip containing your green screen footage (with inverted key) over the media used to fill your subject, and placed over another clip used to contain the media used to replace the green screen. It turns out that the provided Keyer effect in Final Cut Pro automatically sets a 46% Spill Level (I don’t even know what this is because it is separate from the Spill Suppression - it seems to be the “primary” spill removal tool it’s documented that it will fill the green with a light gray color instead of transparency.) The solution at this stage is to simply set the Spill Level parameter to 0% and that will clear out the white-out to transparency again. Pretty simple provided 1) you get a good key and 2) you know how to get around the non-transparent “white out” where the green screen used to be. (When you invert a keyed green screen, you get the original green screen back as everything that is not green is masked!)Ģ) select the green screen clip and fireworks clip and make a compound clip.ģ) apply the Keyer to the compound clip and overlay it over the icy waterfall clip. How this is accomplished is rather simple:ġ) apply they keyer to the green screen footage - invert it! - and overlay it over the fireworks clip. If this question hadn’t been asked, this is not something I would have thought of by myself… It’s actually rather cool! The effect I want is to have our model replaced with fireworks as a silhouette effect and the green background replaced with an icy waterfall (fire and ice □ ). As far as firewalls, ZoneAlarm is tops for free, with Comodo close behind, though Comodo can be as annoying as the Windows User Account Control (UAC) pop-ups. All the free ones are junk and cause more problems then they fix. Take it from me, spend the money and get a good product. You have to make sure your computer is not infected with a virus before you install any antivirus or else it's not going to work up to it's 100% potential. Remember this: There is a reason why all those free antivirus are free. Long story short, I want my customers to be happy, and I'm in these fixes for the long term. I do not get paid by Symantec (the company that makes Norton) to sell their product either.
